Shree Swaminarayan Mandir - Dharma Bhakti Manor - Holi 2015 (614)Following the successful start to monthly talks in 2016, next talk organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, VOICE , Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Hindu Students Forum and other cultural organisations on Oh My God! will  be held on Saturday 19 March at 7.30pm at Gita Bhavan, Manchester. Talk will be given by Prof Nawal Prinja who has studied the Upanishads and
teaches Hindu philosophy at VOICE. This presentation on “Oh My
God !” will address these issues head on and present the right message and
concept of God in Hinduism.
The organisers say many Hindus, young and old, seem to have acquired their understanding
about God from hearsay or from Bollywood movies. There is widespread
confusion between the one God, demi-gods, saints and heroes.

In Hindu scriptures there are many stories about various gods and goddesses. Who
are they? And where do they stand in relation to the concept of One God or
Brahman described in the Hindu philosophy? Is Hinduism monotheist,
pantheist or polytheist? Fear of God has been put into some and sadly some
have simply turned away and become atheist, the organisers add..
There will be a small skit on Prahlad and Holika just before the talk to
convey the message of the festival of Holi. .Entry to the event is free for families and all.
