Rainbow Raagas is a renowned South Asian music band which has been gaining momentum since its inception in 2006. Having performed widely across the UK, they are about to hold their latest concert ‘Yeh Shaam Mastani’ at Maxwell Upper Hall, University of Salford, Manchester on the 11th of June 2016. Rainbow Raagas take great pride in telling the world that their area of expertise is to explore and present before their audience the rich musical heritage of India and South Asia.

Band member Hamit Walia comments, “Our musicians are well-placed professionals in their fields and come from health sector, business, and academics. We are also well-trained musicians who passionately perform rich and varied genres of Indian, Asian and Western music in various languages both for entertainment and benevolent purposes in the UK and Europe. Therefore, the ethos of the band is highly multicultural, inclusive and benevolent.” Earlier, this year they held a concert in aid of Chennai floods sporting their humanitarian side. The event was highly successful and they take great pride in being able to contribute to the betterment of India.

Rainbow Raagas, as a band promote objectives of inclusivity and social responsibility. According to Hamit, “We consciously sustain our musical heritage by identifying budding musical talents from among the Asian and wider communities in the UK and contribute back to growing multicultural fabric of the UK. We also identify and encourage talented musicians among students who come to the UK. Through this we network with various organisations and cultural associations.” He further added, “In our quest to gratefully contribute back to our home country, our latest endeavor is a Hindi Bollywood musical concert to be held on the 11th of June at Maxwell Upper Hall, University of Salford, Manchester.”

After two previous successful shows in Manchester, the UK’s largest South Asian band presents live music on public demand. This show is not be missed as it will aspire all generation of Hindi music lovers as the show has been carefully planned with a vibrant selection of Bollywood songs from every era of the largest film industry in the world.
