A catwalk with a view!

Cheetham C of E Primary Academy in Cheetham Hill hosted a catwalk show with a difference to celebrate Oxfam’s Dressed by the Kids Day, reports Asian Lite

Oxfam’s Dressed by the Kids Day included a school-wide competition which saw individual classes styling their teachers and parents in fun, outlandish outfits for the day. The school and wider community were invited to watch the teachers showcase their new looks in a hilarious catwalk event.

Local musician and beatboxer Faz Shah was invited to judge the best-dressed teacher and treated guests to an extra special beatboxing performance.

“Stepping out of your comfort zone and doing something different on a regular basis is how I was able to play the violin and, in contrast, beatbox as well. This is why I was thrilled to be able to support Oxfam’s Dressed By The Kids as that’s exactly what this wonderful fundraising day is encouraging others to do,” said Faz Shah.Capture2

Oxfam’s Dressed by the Kids Day, which takes place on 29 April 2016, dares the nation to put the children in charge of their wardrobe. Mums, dads, aunts, uncles and grandparents are encouraged to get dressed by their kids in exchange for sponsorship.

Speaking about Cheetham Academy’s involvement principal, Mrs. Carter, said, “We were delighted to have been selected to take part in the fashion show. It really was a fun idea that will involve all the family as well as anyone that looks after children. All of the teachers thoroughly enjoyed sporting their new looks for the day and we would highly recommend everyone takes part in this incredibly fun family event.”Capture

Those embracing the opportunity and taking part in Dressed by the Kids’ Day, will support Oxfam’s fight against poverty by seeking sponsorship from friends. In just 15 years, extreme poverty has been halved and in 15 more years, it can be ended for good.

Those who want to unite the family in something truly fun and unique can sign up at www.oxfam.org.uk/dressedbythekids, where they will be issued a unique text code to allow family and friends to sponsor them in an instant.
