True to the significance of a Valentine’s Day, the stage of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, reverberated with many facets of love, as the classical dancer duo of Vinod Nair and Nikita Iyer took the audience through a journey of love. The performance named ` Seasons of Love,’ explored the journey of love as experienced in different seasons—the heat in Summer, different hues of Autumn, the dryness of Winter and the emergence of new life in Spring.
The talented pair of Vinod and Nikita enthralled the audience with their performance which was split into four sessions according to the four seasons. Drawing the central theme from Ramayana, the couple took the audience through the love between Rama and Sita and how their relationship had to endure the different experiences of love akin to the seasons.
The grace and charm which exuded the performance of Vinod and Nikita was unparalleled as they portrayed the characters of Jadayu, Hanuman, Soorpanaka in addition to Rama and Sita on stage. The rhythm and chemistry that the dancer pair brought to the evening of Valentine’s Day left the audience mesmerised for a long time. The Bharatnatyam performance was given able accompaniment in the form of live music composed by Arun Jathavedam. The evening proved to be a celebration of talent, symphony, music and above all Love!
