An informative and practical health screening workshop was an added feature to this year’s event. Staffed by medical professional volunteers, who carried out blood pressure screening, lung capacity measurement using peak flow meters, and blood glucose testing. About 65 people took advantage of the health screening.

Dipak Patel one of the volunteer commented “these types of workshops are really good at raising awareness and spotting any problems. Running it with the 10k challenge means more people can take advantage of the screenings”.

After the opening ceremony, walkers, joggers and runners moved along the route around the streets of Ashton (Manchester) in glorious sunshine.

Brijesh Trivedi a participant, shared: “The day was a great family event. My wife and my young daughter could take part and it is so good to know that our small efforts will help others in so many ways.”

One of the lead volunteers for the event, Roshni Vadera : “It’s so good to see so many people give up their Sunday for this worthy cause.  We are really grateful for all the generous support we and goodwill we receive to make this a special event.”
