In the thousands of years of our evolution, one of the finest gifts handed down by our ancestors has been culture. Serving as our basic identity, culture connects us to our roots while defining us and our ancestry. Culture also exhibits our diversity in the magnanimous human race, binding us together as strands of a single fabric.
Taking “group therapy” to unprecedented scale, melting national boundaries and erasing the line between the online-offline binary, the WCF will be a historical event on every scale.
The WCF is a pioneering event, where spiritual leaders, politicians, business leaders, peacemakers, thought-leaders, artists and common people will unite to spread the message of global peace and of harmony in diversity.
In what is believed to be a historic gathering to celebrate peaceful co-existence and unity in diversity, the World Culture Festival will bring together people from different cultures, nations, and faiths as a one-world family in a resounding message of peace.
International peace ambassador Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says, “We are a part of one humanity and we express ourselves differently through music, art and food. Celebrating our diverse cultures binds us together and expands our perspectives. The World Culture Festival emphasizes on co-existence, demonstrating the power of peace by bringing millions of people together. It is an opportunity for world leaders from cultural, social, political, business fields to come together to rekindle human values in the pursuit of happiness and peace.”
The World Culture Festival will feature a diverse program of cultural show acts, ceremonial speeches of dignitaries, an interfaith meet and platforms for leadership discussions. High-level dignitaries will share their insights on how to foster world peace and intercultural dialogue.
On all three days of the festival, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will lead a ‘Peace Meditation’ which would be joined by millions from across the globe. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founder of the AOL explains the relevance of meditation to our divisive times: “When you are sitting with your eyes closed and meditating, you are not doing anything, yet the vibration that you are generating from within is changing the world.” Bhanumathi Narasimhan, Director, Women Welfare and Child Care Programs, The Art of Living opines, “In the midst of the widespread terror in the world, it’s important for all the good people to stand united, making the voice of peace louder and stronger.
