The Opening of Europe’s Newest Temple dedicated to the worship of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and celebrations of Indian Cultural events took place on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya in Olst, The Netherlands.
This Temple the first of its kind was officially opened by His Excellency Shri J.S. Mukul, the Indian Ambassador to The Netherlands, Mr. Herman Engberink, the deputy Mayor of Olst-Wijhe, Vaidya Etienne Premdani of Shirdi Sai Mandir Olst, Dr. Venkat Joshi, and Amarjeet-Singh Bhamra.
The installation of Shirdi Sai Murty (Statue) along with the traditional Vedic ritual of Havan in Sanskrit and all other Pujas (prayers) were performed throughout the day by Pandit Dr. Joshi an eminent Ayurveda scholar.
It has been a long-term passion of Dr. Etienne and Mrs Bina Premdani, successful Ayurvedic practitioners who have inspired this unique Temple for all communities of The Netherlands to come pray and rejoice peace. Dr Premdani is third generation non-resident Indian from Surinam, South America.
Over 200 guests from all over The Netherlands came to attend the grand opening after which vegetarian food was served.
