The Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) claims “historic” victory in the Holyrood election as it won 58 seats in the 129-seat Parliament

69d9d6d55fe6578adb98f9a8c5f41285SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon has declared that her party has won a “historic” victory in the Holyrood election, BBC reported.The SNP has won 58 seats so far. The Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have also enjoyed success but Labour’s vote has fallen.  It will be come the third force behind Conservatives.

With the regional list results starting to be declared, the SNP has won 58 seats, the Conservatives 16, Labour 11, Liberal Democrats four and Scottish Greens four. SNP may have to strike a deal with minority partner to form a majority government.

Ms Sturgeon held her Glasgow Southside seat with a majority of almost 10,000 votes as the SNP won all eight seats in the city – including four from Labour.
