The Federation of Ambedkarite and Buddhist Organisations (FABO) UK has organised a music program at the Nehru Centre commemorating 126th birth anniversary of Dr. B.R Ambedkar….reports Ragasudha Vinjamuri for Asian Lite News
The musical portrayal titled ‘Sarnang’ was presented by singer and lyricist Rajesh Dhabre and Dr. Bhavna Dhabre. The songs and the accompanying commentary depicted the life and works of Dr Ambedkar, taking the audiences through his simplicity, intellect and contributions.
Rajesh Dhabre is Commissioner of Customs and Excise and the Director General of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI) in Pune, India. He has released four albums since 2010 which included tributes to Buddhism, featuring the best of the industry such as Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Alka Yagnik, Shankar Mahadevan, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, Suresh Wadkar, Pankaj Udhas, Shaan and Sukhvinder Singh, besides the Dhabre duo themselves.
Santosh Dass, President of FABO and Vice-Chair of Anti-Caste Discrimination Alliance (ACDA) has given the opening message and the Vote of Thanks was rendered by Secretary of FABO Chakravarty Gautam. In attendance were Vibha Kapoor, Deputy Director of the Nehru Centre and A.S Rajan- Minister for Communities at the High Commission of India, including others.
