UK Parliament Celebrates Guru Gobind Singh’s Birthday


All faiths & community reps united in celebrating Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s 350th Prakash Gurpurab function at the Parliament….reports Asian Lite News

On 31th Jan 350th Prakash Gurpurab (Holy Birth Anniversary) of Guru Gobind Singh ji celebrated at the Portcullis House, Westminster. It was Attended by MP’s, Lords, GLA Members, Councillors, Leaders of different faiths Kashmiri Pandits, Hindus, Parsis, Sindhis, Rajpoot, Muslims , Christians and Non-religious as well remembered the contribution to society , equality, eradication of suppression, sacrificing the entire family , leadership, poetic and spiritual guidance.

The Parliamentarians agreed to support a motion to build a Memorial to commemorate the Role of Sikhs in World War 1 and 2 who fought for world peace and save Great Britain.

Rt  Hon. Tom Brake MP, Virendra Sharma MP, Lord Rana, Lord Loomba, Lord Dholakia, Lord Patel, Dr Onkar Sahota, Mihir Bose were among the speakers of the evening. The event was attended by many leaders, dignitaries of Indian diasporas and over 100 diverse community and charity reps. It was organised by Amarjeet Singh Bhamra (All Parliament Group – Indian Traditional Sciences)
