The celebration of Maha Sivarathri as Nritholsavam (festival of dance) will have Indian classical dance performances of various genres.
The Indian classical dance lovers in the UK will be getting a visual and musical treat this month as the 7th London Shivratri Dance Festival organised by the London Hindu Aikyavedi will be held on February 29 at the Archbishop Lanfranc Academy auditorium in Croydon.
The celebration of Maha Sivarathri as Nritholsavam (festival of dance) will have Indian classical dance performances of various genres, led by famous Asha Unnithan. Renowned dancers from different parts of the country will be performing in the event. Other programmes include Deeparadhana (religious prayers) and Annadanam (free offering of food).
Thekkumuri Haridas, chairman of the London Hindu Aikyavedi said that events are free and open to general public same as before. He said that general public are requested to confirm their attendance in advance.
The London Hindu Aikyavedi, known for its efforts to bring out new talents to promote the art forms of Kerala, has also been conducting the London Chembai Music Festival for the last six years.
It is also working towards the fulfillment of a mission to build a Sree Guruvayoorappan Temple in the United Kingdom.
