Axis Bank Offers Money Transfer on Mobile

Axis Bank UK Ltd Launches “AxisRemit UK” for remittance to India . This will help the customers to remit money to any account in India using beneficiary mobile number….reports Asian Lite News

 Axis Bank AAxis Bank UK Ltd, announced the launch of a new remittance service through a mobile App “AxisRemit UK”, that enables account holders to transfer funds to any account in India using beneficiary account details or simply their mobile phone number.

Anyone with an UK Bank account and UK address can now download the “AxisRemit UK” app on their Android and iOS smartphones, and within minutes, set themselves up as remitters.

Sender can register beneficiary by using his account details or select the phone number of their intended receiver in India. Subsequent transfers can be carried out through the bank’s mobile app at the click of a button with funds credited to any bank account in India.

The sender will also have an option to ask the beneficiary to map his mobile number with bank account by providing details through secured web access.

Commenting on the launch MD & CEO Mr Rajendra Adsul said: “Axis Bank UK is the first Indian Bank in the UK to provide a mobile App of its kind for transferring funds to India. This will enable NRIs to remit funds on the go without the need to have an account with the Bank”.

The innovative service is being offered by Axis Bank UK with Empays Payment Systems India, a technology partner of payment solutions that enable banks to rapidly launch mobile based financial services.

“We are delighted to partner with Axis Bank UK to provide this service to its UK-based customers. Our digital payments platform, Empays Payment Cloud (EPC), connects banks across the globe to enable remittances to be made between mobile phones instantly and securely” said Ravi Rajagopalan, founder and CEO of Empays.

Axis Bank has started its UK operation in April 2013. The Bank offers a range of financial services, loans to Large and Mid-Corporates, Buy to Let Mortgages, Retail Deposits, and remittance to India services.
