Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s brother-in-law O.P. Singh, who is the Additional Director General of Police and posted as Special Officer in the Haryana Chief Minister’s Office, suspected some foul play in the crime, according to IANS report on Monday.
He is seeking a thorough probe into the incident, the report said. State officials said Singh left for Mumbai as soon as he learnt of the suicide.
The 34-year-old actor was found hanging at his apartment in Mumbai’s Bandra on Sunday.
According to police, they did not find any foul play in their initial investigation. The actor committed suicide after reportedly suffering from depression for the past several months.
According to media reports, the provisional post-mortem report has been submitted by the doctors at the Bandra police station. A team of three doctors conducted the autopsy of Sushant and the provisional cause of death is said to be asphyxia due to hanging, the report said.
Expressing condolences, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said actor Rajput’s death is an “irreparable loss” to not only the film industry but also for the entire society.
