People’s Reconciliation Committee for Gilgit Baltistan & Jammu Kashmir organised a protest outside the Pakistani High Commission in London to demand the political and constitutional rights for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. The protesters stayed outside Pakistani High Commission for two hours and raised slogans calling for the grant of basic human, political and constitutional rights for the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
They also seeking the abolition of ministry of Kashmir affairs, release of Baba Jan and his other companions; to withdraw false cases against JKNAP activists in Azad Kashmir.
The protesters urged the Pakistan government to empower the local government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, to build an international airport in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to stop load shedding in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to terminate the services of lent officers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to stop cross border terrorism, to withdrawPakistan Army from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and to close Jehadist training camps in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Spokesman PRC Pofessor Sajjad Raja, human rights activists Sophia Hussain, Sameena Raja, Hameeda Begum, Chairperson Voice of Dogras Manu Khajuria Singh and Mehmood Ahmed addressed the protestors.
The speakers said that the protest was organised to demand cessation of all hostilities in Kashmir and to raise awareness about the plight of the people living in the areas of the State under Pakistani control.
The speakers demanded that both India and Pakistan should enter into peaceful dialogue to resolve the dispute and all military activities be stopped at the Line of Control.
The speakers said that they believe in peace, love and harmony and oppose wars and confrontations.
Spokesman PRC Professor Sajjad Raja presented a memorandum to the Pakistani High Commission making the following demands:
They also urged Pakistani government to stop support to all militant and Jihadist outfits operating in Kashmir Valley and Azad Kashmir. Other demands are all terrorist training camps be closed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir; Cross border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir be stopped with immediate effect; Firing across Ceasefire Line in Azad Jammu and Kashmir be stopped; Compensation be paid to all those injured and to the families of those who have been killed due to the armed activities at Ceasefire Line;
A meaningful and productive dialogue be initiated with India involving the political leadership of all factions of the State of Jammu and Kashmir to broker peace and stability in Kashmir; All political and military interference into the affairs of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan be stopped and both the governments of AJK and GB be empowered etc
