Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has dethroned his nephew and Home Minister Mohammed bin Nayef and appointed his son Mohammed bin Salman as the crown prince….reports Asian Lite News

King Salman also appointed Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the deputy Prime Minister also as he is the current defence minister under King Salman’s rule.

Saudi Kingdom issued notification which mentions Prince Abdul Aziz  bin Saud bin Nayef as head of domestic security and Prince Ahamed bin Muhammed Alsallim as deputy head of domestic security.

King Salman, 81, acceded to the throne in January 2015 after the death of his half-brother Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, BBC reported.

He announced his first major cabinet reshuffle a few months later, appointing Prince Mohammed bin Nayef as crown prince and Prince Mohammed bin Salman as deputy crown prince.

Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s latest promotion, and his rapid ascent, is seen by the younger generation as a sign that things are changing.
