Indian melody queen Lata Mangeshkar’s fans celebrated her birthday in Dubai at the Emirates International School auditorium. Lata’s voice has been part of India’s socio-cultural fabric since last seven decades. As the inaugural annual tribute event celebrating her birthday (which fell on 28th September), Dubai based  Dr. Mandar Bichu and Dr. Sunil Manjarekar, in association with Gallop Events, Al Adil, Xpressmoney and Maitreya Group, organised a music concert titled ‘Hridaynath Mangeshkar- Bhaav Sargam’ in her honour.  The program featuring veteran singer-composer Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar and his daughter Radha, enthralled a 550 over audience which received rave reviews.

The youngest of the famed Mangeshkar sibling quintet, Pandit Hridaynath is

a National Award-winning composer and a fabulous singer whose innumerable Marathi, Hindi and Bengali songs have mesmerized the audience world over. His popular film soundtracks such as Jait Re Jait, Jaanaki, Mashaal, Lekin and Maya Memsaab are familiar to most listeners. The connoisseurs are bowled over his masterly compositions in his non-film Bhaavgeet and albums such as Dnyaneshwari, Shiv Kalyan Raja, Koli-Geet, Ganesh-Geet, Meera Bhajan and Ghalib ghazals.

At this Dubai concert, Pandit Hridaynath formally announced the opening of Lata Online (www.lataonline.com), a global web museum, a repository of rare articles, photographs, songs and videos archiving Lata Mangeshkar’s timeless music. The web museum is a labour of love of Dr. Mandar V. Bichu, a Sharjah-based writer-journalist, who has already penned two acclaimed books Gaaye Lata Gaaye Lata (in Marathi) and Lata-Voice of the golden era on the famous singer.
