India’s national carrier AIR INDIA moves to Heathrow Terminal 2….reports Asian Lite News
Air India, the national carrier of India in its’ 69th year of operations between London and India, has now achieved another milestone by moving to Heathrow Terminal 2: The Queens Terminal on January 25, 2017.
Heathrow Terminal 2 is the home of Star Alliance airlines. Consequent to Air India’s joining Star Alliance in mid-2014, in keeping with the Star policy of getting all the Star carriers under one roof, Air India has been vigorously working towards shifting of its flight operations from Terminal 4 to Terminal 2. Having met all the requirements, Air India will now be moving to Terminal 2 at Heathrow on January 25, 2017. Air India will be located in Zone D at Terminal 2 in the Departure Level.
The shifting of Air India flight operations to Terminal 2 will give ensure seamless connectivity of passengers between Air India and other Star Alliance carriers. The move will result in a superior passenger experience for both transit and joining passengers.
Terminal 2: The Queens Terminal was opened in 2014 Heathrow’s newest Terminal includes automated kiosks for multi airline check-in and a smoother connection between Star Alliance carriers. In 2015, Terminal 2 won the award for World’s Best Airport Terminal and last year won Best Airport in Europe by Skytrax.

Speaking on the occasion of the inaugural celebrations at T2, Ms Tara Naidu, the Regional Head of Air India in UK and Europe said; “We appreciate the hard work put in by the core teams at the airport including the Air India staff, Heathrow officials and Star Alliance to achieve this milestone and look forward to providing our passengers an excellent travel experience at Heathrow Terminal 2”.
