Collective for Women and Children (CWC) annual black tie charity fund raising Gala at the Hilton Kensington attracted a full house. The evening was filled with glamour, fun and fabulous ambience…reports Asian Lite News
VIP’s from all walks of life attended the exquisite event. Some of the noteworthy names included attendees from MZM Legal, Zaiwalla, Zee TV, Amandeep Bhogal – Politician, Antonia Filmer – Journalist (Guardian), Govind Shahi from Colors, Sunrise Radio’s Tony Lit, Media Personality Suhel Seth, Iqbal Latif – Owner Hotel Rafayel amongst others.
Guests were treated to a special performance by the talented Bollywood crooner Jasbir Jassi who had flown over specially to lend his support to this worthy charity. Jassi sang beautiful Sufi Numbers and also hit songs from several of his Bollywood movies.
Suhel Seth, Amandeep Bhogal, Iqbal Latif, Sherbir Panag spoke on issues related with women and how there shouldn’t be any tolerance on gender related issues in our society. They also spoke on trafficking, gender pay gaps at work, poverty, malnutrition amongst children which should be dealt with effectively as soon as possible.
The fundraiser featured an auction and a raffle. Prizes included art work by Ella Prakash, antique pieces from various artistes, cricketing memorabilia, suite room package from Hilton Hotels, and a dinner with Jasbir Jassi amongst other prizes.
CWC was founded by Ex Miss India International 2001 Kanwal Toor and endeavours to fight against unfairness, violence & other issues related to women and children. CWC will use the funds raised that evening to provide for the welfare of trafficked women and their children.
