Chinmaya Poster 2015 – 2016 is the birth centenary year of one of the most powerful orators of Truth and world-renowned Vedantic teacher Swami Chinmayananda. To celebrate this landmark year, Chinmaya Mission UK in collaboration with the acclaimed international dancer, Usha Raghavan, is presenting ‘He Did It – Journey of a Master’, a unique thematic dance extravaganza on the life of Swami Chinmayananda on Sunday, 21 February at The Beck Theatre, Hayes. This performance is a rare opportunity to witness the exquisite choreography of Usha Raghavan displayed beautifully by her and her troupe of talented dancers.

Accompanying them will be a live orchestra of accomplished musicians rendering North and South Indian classical music and compelling Sanskrit hymns, including the Bhagavad Geeta and Bhaja Govindam. The dancers will also perform to the Chinmaya Mahima Stotram, a Sanskrit hymn composed by the Global Head of the Chinmaya Mission and recipient of the Padma Bhushan Award 2016 for Spiritualism from the Indian government, Swami Tejomayananda.

The production will masterfully depict, through dance, the remarkable transformation of a young college student and staunch atheist, Balakrishna Menon, from a fiery freedom fighter to a successful journalist, then to an ardent but rational seeker of the Truth and, finally, to the revered master of Vedanta, Swami Chinmayananda. The poignant portrayal will also encompass salutations to Lord Shiva, Mother Ganga and the Himalayas.

This powerful dance depiction on the life of Swami Chinmayananda is guaranteed to capture the essence and magic of the selfless teacher and leave its audience in sheer awe of a man who through his rigorous thirst for knowledge, ardent study of the Vedas, relentless persistence, absolute determination and logical enquiry found the answers to life’s most profound questions and delivered these to the masses in an articulate yet engaging manner.
