Due to unprecedented demand, the UKWelcomesModi will release a limited number of extra tickets for the community reception in honour of Mr Narendra Modi at Wembley Stadium….reports Asian Lite News
The event, UKWelcomesModi, is the highlight of Indian Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United Kingdom on November 13 at 3 pm, during which he is set to attend the biggest community reception for any foreign elected leader on British soil.
Over 450 diverse community organisations have already joined UKWelcomesModi as Welcome Partners; bringing with them a large proportion of the 1.6 million-strong British Indian diaspora. They will be treated to a one-of-a-kind cultural programme, followed by the set piece event- Prime Minister Modi’s first address in the UK.
Keerti Mathur from the programme committee said: “We have a fantastic line up for the cultural programme, showcasing the very best of UK and Indian talent; collaborating music, dance, theatre and culture from both nations in a way that has never been done before. ”
Welcome messages recorded for Prime Minister Modi on social media have highlighted the interest and positivity from across the country by both young and old attendees. The ‘Modi Express’ bus was also launched last week to mark the visit. The bus is currently on a month-long tour around the UK, visiting iconic landmarks and community organisations.
Mayuri Parmar from the organising committee said: “We have had Chai Pe Charcha in India, now we will have Bus Pe Charcha in the UK.”
This is the final chance for members of the public to attend UKWelcomesModi, with the registration page going live for the last time on Thursday 22nd October at 10am. The deadline for registration is midnight on Wednesday 28th October
