After the hugely successful summer cricket coaching camp last year, Friends Sporting Club is gearing up to host their 5th Summer Cricket Coaching Camp for boys and girls between the ages 7 and 15 years.

The event titled “Friends journey with budding stars- Season-5” will take place at the Alexandra Park Cricket Ground in Manchester on 6th, 13th and 14th of April, (7th April at Parswood High School, Indoor Sports Hall) 2019 between 10am to 4pm.
“The aim of this summer coaching camp is to identify new young cricketing talent in our community, teach them basic techniques and provide skill development programmes,” said Seema Simon, Public Relations Officer of the Club. “We will continue to provide ongoing training and regular coaching to sharpen their skills and enable them to reach competitive level. This event is supported by English Cricket Board, Lancashire Cricket Foundation, Coaches Association, GMCL and guided by Manchester City Council Sports development officers.”

“All sessions are run by ECB qualified and UKCCA coaches,” said Philip Simon, Chairman, Friends Sporting Club. “ Sessions include, Pace Bowling, Spin Bowling, Batting techniques, Fielding, LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development), Nutrition, Health and Safety at Cricketing games and group matches. Senior coaches, ECB & LCB officials, Local leaders and Elite players are visiting us during the course of the coaching.”
Last year, following on from the Camp, Friends Club had regular indoor coaching during the winter as well, for all the trainees bringing them up to a competitive skill level. The hardwork paid rich dividends. 25 of those trainees are now playing as a team in the Greater Manchester Cricket Junior League on a regular basis for the club this year. Eight of them have been selected to play for the Manchester District Team and one of them attended Lancashire junior trials as well.
Admissions are limited to 50 children.
Age limit: 7-15 years (Both boys & girls)
The cost of the coaching camp for all 4 days will be £30
