IAHV, International Association of Human Values is a non-profit organisation founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It has a global presence and holds special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). With an ultimate mission of creating a peaceful society that is stress-free and violence-free their initiatives reach out to a wide community. Through their projects they strive to empower individuals through education, self-development and outreach programmes.

At the 2016 British 10K event on 10 th July, 150 participants will be representing IAHV walking / jogging / running for one of the IAHV initiatives. On the day, IAHV participants will be running alongside 25,000 other runners representing over 700 charities. It is a fun filled atmosphere with live music and supporters present along the entire route. This year, the route will cover some of London’s famous and iconic sites.

Through the British 10K, IAHV supporters will be raising funds for charitable initiatives. They believe that together they  can create a peaceful world promoting essential human values. A well-known concept is that calmness, clarity and focus can all be achieved through regular yoga and meditation. This is the essence of some of the programmes run by IAHV which are Peacebuilding  (Transforming the minds and hearts of all in conflict zones) , Manage your Mind (Reduce stress, anxiety and depression with local GPs) , Disaster Relief  (Re-build communities in disaster struck areas), Prison Smart ( Create a stress-free, violence-free society) , Breathe Smart (Integrate individuals back into society), Gift-a- Smile – (Create a better future for children by supporting building schools and providing educational facilities) , Read Library (Educate and empower children through education) and Sri Lanka Children (Support orphan children in SriLanka)
