Nearly 2500 people attended Richo Arena stadium Coventry day for international yoga day supported by all communities organised by Consulate General of India and Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust UK (PYPT) , this was largest free yoga and health awareness event held in the midlands attended by families children all ages form all communities…reports Asian Lite News
The session was lead by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev who taught yogic exercises and assanas. A group of children from Wellingborough demonstrated yoga postures. PYPT UK trustee Mrs Sunita Poddar and Indian consulate general Dr Aman Puri welcomed the guests and thanked all communities for their huge support . Dr Puri said that they will work with all groups to try to hold the biggest yoga event held in the UK in 2022 when Coventry will celebrate cultural city of UK.
After the event PYPT national coordinator Mr Darshan Sohal thanked all the PYPT volunteers who travelled from various parts of the UK and said that without their support this event was not possible. PYP Trust’s Area Coordinator Councillor Charan Sekhon said the event has brought all communities together as yoga promotes health peace oneness and harmony. Dr Puri and his team worked very hard along with PYPT to ensure all attendees can benefit from this session.
To mark international day of yoga in the UK, the PYPT and Indian Consulate and High Commission organised a series of sessions in London and Glasgow that were attended by large number of people.
