Kishan was honoured by Her Majesty the Queen in Her New Years Honour’s List 2020 with the BEM (British Empire Medal) For Services to Community Cohesion. Kishan was also made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2015 and was honoured with the Freedom of the City of London – making him one of the youngest BaME Freemans of London.

 by . Kishan Devani BEM FRSA celebrated receiving his BEM Honour from Her Majesty the Queen at the National Liberal Club last week amongst great fanfare. Attendees included big wigs from the political world, such as Acting Leader of the Liberal Democrats – Rt Hon. Sir Ed Davey MP, the Rt Hon. Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Layla Moran MP, Daisy Cooper MP, Lord Dick Newby & Lord Karan Bilimoria. Dignitaries from the Indian & Ugandan High Commission were also in attendance to celebrate Kishan’s honour.
Kishan’s family and friends were also present to celebrate this joyous occasion.  by . The guests spoke in praise of Mr Devani and his accomplishments, branding him a Champion and Ambassador of the BaME Communities. Sir Ed Davey MP & Baroness Warsi both praised Kishan on his dedication and passion to bring about a world of Equality. Both Layla Moran MP & Daisy Cooper MP spoke of Kishan’s drive, energy & passion to build bridges between communities.
Lord Karan Bilimoria, Founder and Owner of Cobra Beer, spoke of how he felt the UK will soon have a BaME PM, adding that ‘Could just be Kishan!’. Kishan was truly humbled at all the worse of praise and reiterated ‘This Honour is not for me, it is for all the unsung activists across the country who are striving for a better world, that is just & equal’. He thanked his family, friends and supporters for their ongoing support and vowed to continue working hard for the community, both through his politics and his social work.
 It was an event hosted by David Angell where people from all walks of life that have been involved with Kishan’s charitable work and initiatives, right through to his school friends were in attendance. It was a delightful, joyous event celebrating diversity and Kishan’s various achievements at such a young age.
