Consulate General of India in association with Liverpool Business School, Liverpool JohnMoores University is organising a Make in India seminar on 19 October followed by a reception ….reports Rahul Laud

Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry (Independent Charge), Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman launching "Make in India" campaign in New Delhi on Sept. 25, 2014.

Mr Dinesh Patnaik, Deputy High Commissioner of India to UK will address the Seminar. Mr Steve Toogood, Director, United Kingdom Indian Business Council, Manchester and Consulate General of India, ,Birmingham will make presentations during the Seminar.

Make in India is a flagship programme of Government of India and was launched on 25 September,2014.

The seminar aims at promoting India as an investment destination and a global hub for manufacturing, design and innovation.’’

Twenty five sectors have been identified under the programme. These include IT, Automobiles, Biotechnology, Renewable Energy, Thermal Power, Construction, Roads and Highways, Defence Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Tourism and Hospitality, Food Processing, Mining, Chemicals, Aviation, Textiles etc.’’

Make in India programme also aims at improving the Ease of Doing Business in India and new sectors have been opened up for foreign investment. The Seminar will also provide networking opportunities for leading British companies.
