The Sandwell Asian Family Support charity (SAFS) has been helping South Asian disabled children, young adults, and their families in Birmingham for over 30 years. To celebrate these years of service, SAFS organised a 30 year anniversary charity gala. Amit and his team were happy to become one of the main sponsors of this event.
Amit commented: “I first met Poppy, the CEO of the charity, when she was a patient in my practice. When I found out what she did for a living, I knew that it was something that I wanted to be involved in.The work that SAFS has done and continues to do in my local community has been outstanding.”
The 30th Anniversary charity gala raised over £6000 in one evening. These funds will make a significant impact on the service that SAFS can continue to offer the local community. The gala was held at the botanical gardens in Birmingham and included raffle prizes, auctions for holidays and ‘guess the teddy’ competitions.
The success of this event has contributed to the growth of the SAFS charity and they are now planning to expand their services. They are even currently relocating to the windmill centre in Cape Hill.
