The Sree Narayana Guru Mission of UK (SNGM), London, is organising a drama and musical night on Saturday (23rd January) in Ilford and Croydon. The proceeds of the night will go towards raising fund for having a new building for the organisation in Croydon.

The Musical night will also have the popular folk singer Praseetha Chalakudy, Idea Star singer fame Vivekanandan, and singer and anchor Vrinda.  The music and drama night will be held at Beal High school, Woodford Bridge Road, Ilford, Essex, IG4 5LP on Saturday 23rd January, from 4pm and on Sunday 24th January, from 3pm at the Archbishop Lanfranc Academy, Mitcham Road, Croydon.

“The SNGM already has a building in New Ham, but we would like to have a building in Croydon too which has a large number of devotees,” said one of the committee members.

SN Event AThe Drama and Musical night will showcase the drama `Gurudevan’ presented by Guruprabha, which has already achieved accolades in the Malayalee community a few years back.  “The drama presents the life history of Sree Narayana Guru and highlights how the message of one God, One religion and One Caste is relevant when our society itself is going through a phase of intolerance,” said one of the organisors.

The drama `Gurudevan’ written by a Muslim writer Muhad Vembayam is presented in a new form and presentation, which shows that SNGM acts without the narrow boundaries of religion.

The message propagated by Sree Narayana Guru where without any consideration of caste, creed or status, humanity was valued is more applicable in today’s world where nations are divided on the basis of narrow segments. The SNGM has been working amongst the Kerala community for the last 40 years and have had the official building in New Ham for the past 25 years.

The Croydon building project has been in the pipeline from 2009 onwards and is believed to provide a permanent place for SNGM followers to congregate and advance the prosperity of the community at large.
