The Stage is all set for the UK Goan Festival 2015 to be held on the 2nd of August 2015, Cranford Community College grounds, Hounslow ….reports Rahul Laud
People from different parts of Britain and abroad are expected to come together to participate Goan Fest 2015, showcasing the very best in Goan culture and heritage.
“Over the years, the festival has grown in popularity with the participation at the event growing exponentially. The organising committee has always endeavoured to make the event better and enjoyable by providing you an entire day of pure Goan Magic!, says Ravi Vaz , Director, Goan Association UK in an exclusive chat with Rahul Laud at Asian Lite News.
The Festival begins with the Holy Mass in Konkani at 11 am, celebrated by Bishop OLWIN BARRETO who will be travelling from Goa specially for this event.
The entry to the event is £5 per person through wrist bands. Under 16 is free (proof of age may be required), Special parking for the handicapped and disabled will be made available. Car park is £5 per vehicle. We would appreciate it if you could tender exact change at the gates.Please wear your wrist bands throughout the event, inform the organisers .
There is a free shuttle service from The Hounslow west station to the venue and back from 10 am until 8 pm. Outside food and drinks are not allowed into the venue.The management reserves the right to admission.
“Besides the local talent, we also have a massive line up of performances from various top Goan artists and it gets even better. ‘A26’ one of Goa’s leading band will be specially fl own down from Goa to play some scintillating music to keep you entertained through the entire afternoon,” adds Ravi.. Jan Graveson, an ex Eastender star will be performing at the event. She has very strong connections with Goa having travelled Goa extensively.
Air India, Star alliance partner and one of the main sponsors have been supporting the event over the past few years and have sponsored the flight arrangements of the band.
“This year the festival has the best in Goan cuisine with sumptuous and mouth watering Goan food.The kids are sure to have a fantastic day at the Kid’s Pavilion loaded with rides and games sure to keep all ages entertained through the day,” informs Ravi
Lebara mobile will be the main sponsor . They have some exciting prizes to give away inform the organisers. This year’s raffle proceeds will go to the Goan Welfare Society (GWS). The GWS supports various welfare causes of the Goan Community.
Silver Star Charity will be organising a free diabetes testing clinic at the event for the benefit of the senior citizens. “We will also be supporting various other goan charities and initiatives such as the goa for giving that works with the community in Goa on various environment and social issues. They will be having a presence to create awareness,” adds Ravi .
