Commenting on the LSE Commission on the Future of Britain in Europe report, Wes Streeting MP, member of the Treasury Select Committee, said: “Independent experts – whether business leaders, trade experts or economists – agree that Britain’s economy is stronger in Europe and leaving would cause a profound economic shock.

“Pulling out of the single market, our home market of 500 million people, would put jobs at risk, push up prices and mean less money for the Government to spend on public services like the NHS.

“It’s a dangerous leap into the dark that Britain simply can’t afford to take.”
