A 28 year old holiday maker from Dubai has scooped a massive £31,160 whilst playing the Bad Beat Poker Jackpot at The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square, and he will be donating every last penny to charity.
Faisal Al Khadhari hit the jackpot whilst on a two week holiday with his brother from Dubai.
He says, “I have decided to donate all my winnings to Syrian children. I keep hearing about how thousands of refugees are struggling to stay warm due to the heavy snow storms and freezing temperatures, so I know this money will go a long way to provide food, shelter and blankets”
Peter Turpin, Venue Director at The Casino at the Empire, in Leicester Square says “We love the excitement of a big win, and it’s even better when we hear about a good will gesture like Faisal’s. We take huge pride in our long established charity commitments here at the Casino at the Empire, so playing a part in something like this really does mean a lot to us and all our staff.”
During 2014 Caesars UK donated £255,000 to various charities and other good causes at a corporate level, with a further £72,700 raised by facilitating staff and customers to donate in cash and in kind.
This was Faisal’s first ever time in the casino, which had been recommended to him by friends as the place to go in London for the ultimate buzz and personalized service.
Faisal continues, “It’s really hard to describe the thrill of such a big win, it’s amazing. I only popped into the casino for a bit of fun and excitement and I certainly got that!”
The runner up for this Bad Beat Jackpot win received £15,580, and six other players received £2,596 each, meaning a grand total of over £60,000 in winnings.
The Bad Beat Jackpot is situated in the Poker Room at the Casino at the Empire, where the next jackpot is already starting to mount up again ready for the next winner. The game has rewarded players with over £1,000,000 since 2010, with the biggest three jackpots won to date standing at £222,335, £128,705 and £118,421.
As part of the world’s largest gaming organisation, Caesars Entertainment, the Casino at the Empire takes great pride in offering its customers the best in gaming that the industry has to offer.
Peter continues, The Bad Beat jackpot has created a lot of buzz in our Poker Room over the last few weeks, we’ve all been waiting with great anticipation for someone to strike it lucky.”
The Casino at the Empire’s Poker credentials are second to none, thanks to its unique association with the World Series of Poker Tournament. In November, its sister casino in Manchester also hosted Paddy Power’s first ever offline Poker Tournament in England.
