by . Prime Minister Theresa May said the general election on June 8 will go ahead as per schedule. She was addressing the nation after the COBRA meeting to discuss the attacks at London bridge which claimed 7 lives.

The prime minister said it is time to say “enough is enough” when it comes to tackling terrorism. “We cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are,” she said.

The mainstream newspapers were divided over their support to the major parties. When the Mirror endorses Labour, the Sunday Times supported Tories. The Mail and The Express also endorse May as prime minister because of their stand on Brexit.
