A double-decker bus to promote the arrival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to London will be launched at Wembley on Saturday. This is the first time London is witnessing anything similar to this to greet a national leader. Last week, the Indian Gymkhana Club in Osterley host an event to discuss the arrival of Modi.
More than 450 welcome partners of the ‘UK Welcomes Modi’ event attended the reception. Indian High Commissioner Mr Ranjan Mathai was the chief guest. Baroness Verma, Professor Nath Puri CBE, MPs Keith Vaz, Virendra Sharma, Steve Pound, Seema Malhotra, businessman Dr Rami Ranger, Mr manoj Ladwa, Mr Shamsudhin Agha, president of the Indian Muslim Federation, and an array of top echelons of Indian community were present. Sheena Bhattesa compered the event.
“Two Great Nations, One Glorious Future”, UKWelcomesModi will be a celebration of UK-India relations, the contribution of the UK’s 1.6 million Indian diaspora, India’s drive to fast track economic development, and India’s globalisation and emergence as a global leader. Over 60,000 people will participate live at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
