Joining as Patron is Education Minister of the state of Haryana, Mr. Ram Bilas Sharma.  Through his work in Haryana, Mr. R.B. Sharma has made immense contributions to the welfare of people of Haryana, specifically in the fields of public sector education reforms by significantly improving the quality of education and contributing to the Honourable Prime Minister Modi’s initiative of ‘Beti Padho, Beti Bacho’ (Educate girl child, save girl child’).

Under the guidance of Mr Sharma, the NISAU hopes to develop initiatives that facilitate Indian students and young professionals studying abroad to contributing to further educational development in India.  We also hope to further support bilateral educational exchanges between Indian and UK universities.

Mr. Vikram Duhan, Vice President of NISAU, said:  “We are privileged to be joined by Mr Sharma as a Patron. His contributions towards the reforms & modernisation of Haryana public sector educational sector are very inspiring. Haryana has the lowest sex ratio in India and with endless awareness programs held by Mr. Sharma, this ratio is improving and the number of female children going to school is increasingly rapidly”.

Dr Paul and Mr Sharma join the Honourable Member of UK Parliament Dr Virendra Sharma and Dr Rami Ranger CBE as NISAU Patrons.

Patrons of the National Indian Students Union UK are individuals who have a keen interest in India, the welfare of Indian students and youth, and / or the Indo-UK relationship. Our Patrons help us further the cause and well-being of Indian students and youngsters in the UK and provide advisory and guidance across all our initiatives.
