About 10,000 people from various parts of Britain attended London’s largest Durga puja festival. The Panchamukhee Durga Utsav 2016 (PDU 2016), the winner of ‘Global Best Puja Award’, is growing year by year since 2005. The event held at the Harrow Arts Centre in London was peppered with excellent cultural performances by local and international artistes….reports Asian Lite News
Devotees from Lancaster, Manchester, Birmingham, Slough, Milton Keynes and from various boroughs in London such as Harrow, Brent, Hounslow and Westminster attended the event. The PDU 2016 was celebrated over five days, with the cultural fest showcasing Mahishasur Mardini, Dance recital Tagore’s Taasher Desh, Children’s dance and drama, religious drama, Bollywood music and many more. The cultural programmes were showcased by the SPONDON Music group.
The event was supported by major corporates such as Air India, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, Indra Travels, Asset India etc.
Besides the Durga Utsav, Panchamukhee had organised major events such as Bollywood Events (events with stars like Usha Uthup, Babul Suprio, Amit Kumar, Shaan and many other leading artistes), Anadada Utsav, Probash Parboni, Film Festivals, Bilaat Bangla , Bishwey Bangalee and many other major events through out the years. Panchamukhee would be celebrating the event again next year 2017 for the 12th year.
Panchamukhee is a registered charity in UK and has been organising its flagship event-Panchamukhee Durga Utsav (PDU) every year to raise funds for various charities in India and UK that it supports. PDU is the largest multicultural event in Harrow Council’s cultural calendar and is truly multicultural with events involving various traits and nationality.
