Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia needs little introduction. He is the world’s foremost Bansuri artist (Indian classical bamboo flute).

Panditji’s career spans over 60 years and during that time he has collaborated with artistes of the highest calibre all over the world. Audiences have been thrilled to hear his collaborations with Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (Santoor), John Mclaughlin (Guitarist), The Beatles, Yehudi Menuhin (Violinist) and so many more.

As a Guru (teacher), Panditji continues the rich tradition of the classical flute and has established Gurukuls (schools) all over India. Panditji also serves as the artistic director of the World Music Department at the Rotterdam Music Conservatory, Netherlands.

Pandit ji will be accompanied by Sri Sanju Sahai ji the current head of the Benares Gharana (school) of Tabla. Sanju represents the 6th generation of Tabla artistes in his family and is the direct descendent of the founder of the school, Pandit Ram Sahai ji (1780-1826). Sanju is an acclaimed international artist across the realms of accompaniment and solo repertoires. He has collaborated and performed with artistic masters such as, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma ji (Santoor), Ustad Amjad Ali KhanSaheb (Sarod), Pandit Birju Maharaj ji (Kathak), Vidushi Girija Devi ji (Vocal), Pandit’s Rajan & Sajan Misra ji (Vocal), Akram Khan (Contemporary dance), Michael Nyman (Composer) and many more.

Kaashi Arts was set up with the intention of drawing from the treasures of ancient India. The objective is to curate the finest in the Indian Classical Arts whilst being conscious of age old traditions and to present these jewels in a contemporary manner. They are an organisation of young dedicated volunteers, musicians and music lovers. They are headed by artistic director and internationally renowned Tabla maestro, Pandit Sanju Sahai. Their core areas of focus are, events, education & film/digital content.
