Pravasi Bharat Group's Indian Independence Day Event at Tavistock Square, London

The Pravasi Bharat Group celebrates India’s 69th Independence Day at  Tavistock Square in London. The Indian flag was hoisted at the famous Gandhi statue at the Square. The event was graced by Mr S.S. Sidhu, Minister Co-ordination at High Commission of India, London. 

Anchored by Rohit Parakh, the function also saw felicitations for Mr Sidhu, Mr Lalubhai Parekh, Kamal Voruganti. The event also witnessed a number of heart-rendering patriotic song performances by Mounica Bojja, Richa Kalra, Manoshee Gupta amongst others. Children join the event with dressing up like Gandhiji and other world leaders including Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King etc.

Pravasi Bharat’s PIL by its founder Nagender Chindam for remote ballot for Non Resident Indian from outside of India in the elections in India has been accepted by Supreme Court and is in the form of a draft bill with the Indian government currently under Representation of People Act, 1951 and Information Technology Act, 2000.
