Satang UK celebrated the 128th birth anniversary of Sree Sree Thakur Anukul Chandra at Reading

Satang UK celebrated the 128th birth anniversary of Sree Sree Thakur Anukul Chandra, one of the greatest Spiritual philosopher and philanthropist of 19th century, at the Hindu temple in Reading.  Over 150 people, including devotees and followers from all over the UK, USA, Netherlands and Norway attended the event

The celebrations commenced at around 2pm in the afternoon with devotional songs sung by veteran singer Mrs Ratna Ghosh and her team. Noted Satsang members Mr.Ram Kinkar Thakur, Mr.Nihar Mishra, Ms. Mery Diaz, Mr.Shibasis Satpaty, Mr.Prasna Ray, Mr.Rajanikanta Samantara, Mrs. (Dr.) Alka Thakur and Mr.Rajarshi Roy gave speeches on various aspects of Sree Sree Thakur and His philosophy. Prayers, meditation, bhajans and kirtans followed through the latter half of the day. Mr. Rob Wilson, MP and Minister for Civil Society, Govt. of UK was present as the Chief Guest and he launched the 1st edition of Satsang UK newsletter ‘The Lore-Light’. In his address to the gathering, he congratulated the Satsang community on the occasion.

The proceedings were covered live by Dil se radio presenters Ravi Sharma and Kajal. The celebrations ended with the distribution of prasad and community dinner. One person also took initiation (diksha) with Sree Sree Thakur’s Holy mantra. Satsang UK organises monthly prayer meetings and scientific meditation practices at Reading on 1st Saturday and at Ilford on 3rd Saturday of each month and is currently engaged in the project of building a Satsang Centre in London. Currently there are around 80 million followers consisting of Hindus, Muslims, Christians and other faiths across the globe.
