Lord Mayor Carl Austin-Behan relaunches State Bank of India’s Manchester branch in the presence of SBI Regional Head Sanjiv Chadha and several dignitaries from various sectors.
Sanjay D Naik, Head, Retail Banking, former Lloyds Bank Regional Director Kiran Mehta, Maria Angela Lloren, Manager – Marketing & Communications of SBI, Jiwan Singh Dhanik, Area Branch Manager, Indian Association leaders, Vijay Kumar, Sunil Mohindra of Slater Heelis LLP, Ghanshyam Nabar , India Project Manager were present. The newly furbished Manchester branch will serve the Indian and host communities in the entire North West. The branch is located at Carlton House, Albert Square, Manchester, was badly damaged in a fire incident in 2015.
Mr Chadha said the relaunched branch will reflect the new image of India as a global power.
The inauguration ceremony took place with much pomp and grandeur, complete with a dhol and lamp lighting rituals. The newly elected Manchester mayor was seemed to be enjoying the Indian rituals. The entire staff of the SBI Manchester was also present.
