Acclaimed Indian classical dancers Vinod Nair and Nikita Iyer will perform at Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan on February 14, the Valentine’s Day. The programme is aptly titled ‘Seasons of Love.’…..reports Asian Lite
” Seasons of Love is an attempt to celebrate the journey of life through dance,” Vinod told Asian Lite News. “Life is complex, and dance takes away that complexity.”
Vinod, a postgraduate in Maths, considers teaching as his profession and dancing as his passion, promotes Indian classical dance forms across the globe. He is a disciplined dancer and choreographer in the traditional art form of Bharatanatyam.
Vinod has learnt Bharatanatyam under illustrious gurus such as Kalamandalam Shemavthy, Kalamandalam Radhika and Kalapathibha Shiju Menon. He has also attended workshops conducted by Santosh Menon; ex kalashetra teacher.
Vinod is not only a dancer of this particular art form; his capabilities extend himself to be a versatile dancer who has led many shows in the UK and abroad where he has incorporated fusion styles, which include western and Bollywood. He has performed in many prestigious places within London itself: the Houses of Parliament, Nehru centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (London), O2 arena, the Indian High commission, Southbank and the Lord Mayor’s Show. Vinod has performed alongside fellow UK budding artistes at Guruvayoor Temple and Fine Arts Hall, Cochin.
