Participating groups included Diabetes UK, Ealing CVS, Versus Arthritis, Ealing Rise, Ealing Health Watch, Mind, Ealing Adult Learning, Mencap, West London NHS Trust, Alzheimer’s UK and Each Counselling & Support, who showcased their brilliant work and raised awareness of healthy living and mental health. “I was thrilled to host this very special Wellbeing community event in partnership with some of Ealing, Southall’s wonderful health charities and community groups from across the constituency,” said Sharma, Member of Parliament for Ealing. “There is no better way to celebrate World Mental Health Day than by raising awareness of mental health and healthy living in my constituency. Poor physical health often leads to deteriorating mental health and vice versa. Therefore, I believe that a wellbeing focused approach should be at the forefront of primary care treatments going forward.”

Mr Sharma was delighted by the participation of so many local groups and residents who attended, who hopefully now know where they can go to receive help whenever they need it. He also said that “voluntary organisations such as those here today have stepped in to provide a lifeline to thousands of people, in the face of massive government cuts to the local Hospital and Ealing Council. Thank you for everything that you do to help people across Ealing Southall, in Greenford, Southall, Hanwell, Northfields and West Ealing”.
