Central London was transformed into a sea of green as thousands of revellers celebrated the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade…..reports Asian Lite News
Crowds dressed up as a colourful procession of floats, marching bands and dance troupes made their way down Piccadilly past some of the city’s landmarks. The parade started in Hyde Park Corner before travelling down Piccadilly and Regent Street and finishing up by Trafalgar Square, Evening Standard reported.
The main celebrations happened in Trafalgar Square, with Irish standup comedian Jarlath Regan hosting the afternoon of entertainment.
London mayor Sadiq Khan spoke to the crowds, and there was music from Liam O’Maonlai, Lisa Lambe, Jack L and Derek Ryan.
Official celebrations for St Patrick’s Day have taken place in London since 2001.
