The EU result is likely to be extremely close.   Sikhs are a significant community in the UK and whilst the community does not necessarily vote en-bloc the number of Sikh voters could be instrumental in deciding the result. Here is a documentary tracking down prominent Sikh personalities to get their view on EU Referendum…writes Asian Lite News

Sikhs Video AThe EU Referendum on 23 June 2016 is undoubtedly one of the most important decisions to be taken by UK voters for the foreseeable future.  The result will have wide ranging impact on future generations with effects being felt in every sphere of life in the UK.

Current polling and commentary all suggests the result is likely to be extremely close.   Sikhs are a significant community in the UK and whilst the community does not necessarily vote en-bloc the number of Sikh voters could be instrumental in deciding the result.

The campaign so far has been full of claims and counter claims by the Remain and the Leave camps with many voters remaining confused about the issues. Sikh voters have taken a keen interest in all aspects of the debate including as leading campaigners in both camps.  As well as taking an interest in issues shared with the rest of the population, Sikh voters, as a visibly identifiable community, are also interested in how voting Remain or Leave will affect them as Sikhs.

This documentary has been made by two independent filmmakers from the West Midlands, UK; Bindi Sandhu (Producer) and Gurjant Singh (Director). The documentary contains information from a number of experts from the Remain and the Leave camps on a range of issues e.g. immigration, business, employment and the creative industries that are under consideration that could be described as the ‘Sikh Dimension’.

Sikh Council UK has supported this documentary.
