Sharma MP welcomes New Southall Station

“The improved station is welcome here as the population continues to grow and more people recognise Ealing Southall as an amazing place to live,” Sharma said…reports Asian Lite News.

As the new Southall station opens, Virendra Sharma MP has welcomed improved accessibility and upgraded station buildings for the future.

It was following a long refurbishment the Southall Station reopened as a centre of the Ealing Southall community. To mark the reopening Virendra Sharma MP led a celebration of the new facilities with other community members and leaders.

“The improved station is welcome here as the population continues to grow and more people recognise Ealing Southall as an amazing place to live,” Sharma said.

“Journey times and overcrowding will both be improved massively with the full opening of the Elizabeth Line, but the new station will be safer and fully accessible for the less mobile. The Punjabi connection to the area is still recognised and celebrated by the Southall Station sign.”

The new station facilities provide a new entrance, including new ticket hall, ticket office and ticket gates, new customer information screens and signage, longer platforms, and improved accessibility including platforms accessible by lifts, and step-free from platform to street access.
