An exciting debut takes center stage as a team of seven budding Malayali talents unveils ‘FAR,’ a melodic travel drama set to release on December 15th. Filmed on a shoestring budget against the breathtaking backdrop of Gokarna’s coastal beauty, ‘FAR’ has secured Sony Music as its audio partner.

Directed by Praveen Peter, whose journey from copywriter to film actor includes cameo roles in Malayalam hits like ‘Hridayam’ and ‘Velipaadinte Pusthakam,’ ‘FAR’ is his directorial debut. An aspiring actor and the scriptwriter of ‘Far,’ Praveen stepped into the director’s chair when the original director withdrew at the eleventh hour.

“Like the title in itself, FAR has really been a long journey for us. Through all the thick and thin, we have together fallen, fought, and patiently strived ahead. I have always been fascinated and Inspired by many filmmakers, by their dreams, determination, and persistence. I hope our journey as debut independent filmmakers inspires many more like us,” said Praveen Peter, Director and Script writer of the movie.

The story follows two best friends embarking on a road trip to Gokarna, a locale celebrated for its picturesque landscapes promising much-needed tranquillity. However, the serene atmosphere gradually transforms into a canvas of unfolding mysteries, revealing an intriguing tale of love and friendship at the crossroads of the past and present.

Despite commencing filming in early 2019 with a total of 45 days spread across three schedules, post-production, and some patch shoots faced delays due to the onset of the pandemic the following year.

Produced by George Elsuse & Peter Thettayil, the cast of ‘FAR’ include: Irena Mihalkovich (2018, Mariyam Vannu Vilakoothi) Praveen Peter, Abhinav Manikantan, and Nila Cheviri. The crew of the film consist of Praveen Peter – Story, Screenplay, and Direction, Joseph James- Editor, Ajeesh Anto- Music Director, Faaz Alee- Cinematographer, Unny Varghese, Amritha Sureshan- Art & Production design and Jithin Joseph, Eldhose Issac- Sound Department.

Their endearing efforts got the attention of eminent director Anurag Kashyap who went on to release the first poster of ‘FAR’. Popular actress Keerthy Suresh released the second poster of the movie.
