The Ukrainian military is focused on stabilizing the battlefield and organizing units for counter-offensive operations later this year, ground force commander Oleksandr Pavliuk has said.

Despite a setback with the fall of Avdiivka into Russian hands after months of intense attacks, Ukraine remains resolute.

Russian offensives forced Ukrainian troops to withdraw from nearby settlements, compounded by a stalled US aid package due to political reasons.

Pavliuk emphasized the need to restore units and prepare for counter-offensive actions. President Zelensky anticipates Russia’s next move, affirming Kyiv’s readiness with its own battlefield plan.

Ukrainian military spokesperson Dmytro Lykhoviy noted Russian forces’ inability to advance near Avdiivka, instead focusing efforts southward, near Novomykhailivka.

Ukrainian commander Maksym Zhorin highlighted Russian challenges in making headway since the capture of Avdiivka and surrounding areas, with ongoing assaults at various fronts.

Despite losses, Russian forces persist in their attempts to advance, underscoring Ukraine’s commitment to defense and readiness for future engagements.
