Lulu expands footprint in Al Ain 

Lulu Retail Holdings is set to expand its presence in Al Ain with a new hypermarket at the upcoming Al Ain Community Centre in the Al Jimmi area. 

Lulu Retail Holdings, the region’s largest full-line retailer, is further strengthening its presence in Al Ain with the launch of a new hypermarket in the Al Jimmi area. This expansion follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Lulu Retail Holdings and Al Falaj Investment, underscoring a shared commitment to enhancing retail and community services in the city. 

The agreement was formalised at Lulu’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, with Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu Retail, and Hamdan Al Ketbi, Managing Director of Al Falaj Investment, signing the MOU in the presence of Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Retail, Ashraf Ali MA, Executive Director – Global Operations, and other senior officials.

Strategically located in the heart of Al Ain, the upcoming Al Ain Community Centre is envisioned as a dynamic commercial hub catering to the diverse needs of residents and visitors. Lulu’s newest hypermarket, spanning 20,000 square feet, will offer an extensive range of high-quality products from around the world at competitive prices, aiming to serve a broad customer base, particularly from Al Jimmi and surrounding neighbourhoods. 

Hamdan Al Ketbi, Managing Director of Al Falaj Investment, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “Our newly developed community centre represents a major investment in Al Ain’s economic and social ecosystem, aligning with the city’s vision for sustainable growth and community well-being. By integrating retail with community-centric facilities, this project aims to redefine Al Ain’s commercial and entertainment landscape. The complex will be the first of its kind, driving diversification in the city’s leisure and lifestyle offerings.” 

Echoing this sentiment, Yusuff Ali MA, Chairman of Lulu Retail, remarked: “We are delighted to partner with Al Falaj Investment to bring a new hypermarket to the Al Ain Community Centre. This expansion aligns with our vision to enhance shopping experiences by delivering high-quality products, innovative retail solutions, and exceptional service to all communities in Al Ain.” 

The hypermarket is slated to open by the third quarter of this year, reinforcing Lulu’s ongoing commitment to regional growth and customer satisfaction. 

The signing ceremony was also attended by key executives, including Salim VI, Chief Operating & Strategy Officer; Salim MA and Mohamed Althaf, Group Directors; and Shaji Jamaludheen, Regional Director of Lulu Al Ain, among others.
