Dulquer Salmaan to Make His Grand Return to Malayalam Cinema with ‘I’m Game’

I’m Game will mark Dulquer’s return to Malayalam cinema after the success of his 2023 film King of Kotha, a gangster action flick directed by Abhilash Joshiy

Dulquer Salmaan, one of the most celebrated actors in Indian cinema, has officially announced his highly anticipated return to Malayalam cinema with his upcoming project titled I’m Game. The film, which marks his collaboration with director Nahas Hidhayath, known for his successful venture RDX, promises to be an action-packed drama.

The title was unveiled with an intriguing first-look poster, which shows a pair of hands, one of them injured, gripping a playing card. The visual hints at a thrilling storyline, and the caption accompanying the poster reads, “The Game is On!” The film’s announcement has excited Dulquer’s fanbase, sparking anticipation for what seems to be an intense and high-stakes narrative.

Previously, the actor had teased his followers with an image of a burning gambling chip on social media, declaring, “It’s Time,” ahead of the title reveal on March 1, 2025. This adds a layer of suspense, indicating that the film could delve into themes of risk, strategy, and perhaps betrayal.

I’m Game will mark Dulquer’s return to Malayalam cinema after the success of his 2023 film King of Kotha, a gangster action flick directed by Abhilash Joshiy. The film, which tells the story of Kotha Raju (played by Dulquer), was well-received for its gripping narrative and the actor’s performance. With I’m Game, Dulquer is stepping into a fresh genre, further showcasing his versatility.

On another front, Dulquer has been receiving considerable praise for his recent work in Lucky Baskhar, which made history as the first South Indian film to trend on Netflix for an impressive 13 consecutive weeks. The film has also been a global hit, securing the number 1 spot in over 15 countries and ranking number 2 globally for two weeks. Directed by Venky Atluri and produced by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya, Lucky Baskhar follows the life of Bhaskar Kumar, a middle-class bank employee who faces severe financial difficulties. The movie explores themes of greed, risk, and ambition as Bhaskar attempts to get out of debt through a high-risk investment scheme.
Released in cinemas worldwide on October 31, 2024, Lucky Baskhar has garnered attention for its heartfelt storytelling and Dulquer’s relatable performance, further cementing his standing in both regional and global cinema.

As excitement builds for I’m Game, Dulquer’s fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be another thrilling chapter in his illustrious career. With the first-look poster sparking curiosity and intrigue, the game is most certainly on for the actor as he returns to his Malayalam roots in style.
