Rihanna Reflects on Fashion Evolution and New Role with Dior

With her new partnership with Dior, alongside her Fenty Beauty empire and music career, Rihanna continues to make a major impact in both the entertainment and fashion industries

Rihanna has shared that her fashion sense has always been “driven by her mood” and admits that motherhood has shifted her style. The 37-year-old pop sensation, who has two young children, RZA, two, and 18-month-old Riot, with partner A$AP Rocky, explained that while her fashion choices were initially influenced by “mom-mode,” she is now rediscovering her love for fashion.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna revealed, “Now I’m starting to just remember what I loved about it: the juxtaposition, putting the things together that don’t make sense. My fashion has always been driven by my mood, and my mood was on mom-mode for a minute.”

The global superstar has always been known for her bold and eclectic style, and it seems like her confidence is slowly returning as she embraces her pre-motherhood fashion instincts. As a trendsetter, Rihanna has always played with contrasting styles, mixing high and low fashion, and it appears she’s reigniting her passion for these fashion risks.

In addition to her music career, Rihanna’s influence extends into the beauty industry as the founder of Fenty Beauty. However, she’s also expanding her empire into luxury fashion, having recently been announced as the new face of Dior’s iconic fragrance, J’adore. While excited about the opportunity, Rihanna admitted to feeling “very intimidated” by the role.

“It was very intimidating. But I was excited to represent such a historic brand, something that was special to me,” Rihanna confessed. She took over the prestigious role from Hollywood actress Charlize Theron and has been capturing the campaign for the fragrance in France. Reflecting on the experience, she shared how the perfume holds sentimental value for her.
“My mother worked in a perfume shop. She used to bring home the J’adore testers when they were almost empty, so there was always a bottle in the house. I have always loved this perfume,” Rihanna explained.

Shooting the Dior campaign at the magnificent Versailles Palace, Rihanna felt the grandeur of the location. “Versailles is enchanting. Everything is astonishingly beautiful. It embodies so much history and the magnitude of French luxury,” she said, describing the experience as “a privilege and breathtaking.”

With her new partnership with Dior, alongside her Fenty Beauty empire and music career, Rihanna continues to make a major impact in both the entertainment and fashion industries. Her personal journey with motherhood, style, and beauty is something her fans continue to embrace, and it seems that Rihanna is just getting started in this exciting new chapter.
