Sadaa Slams Human Cruelty

Once among the leading heroines in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Sadaa has reinvented herself as a committed wildlife photographer and activist

Actress-turned-wildlife-photographer Sadaa has strongly condemned a disturbing video of humans provoking a tiger, questioning who the real “animal” is in such situations.
Sharing the clip on Instagram, which reportedly shows a mob in Maharashtra pelting stones at a tiger trying to walk away peacefully, Sadaa expressed deep anguish over the growing insensitivity of people toward wildlife.

“The deep sense of regret over humanity’s impact on the planet and its inhabitants haunts me, making it hard to find peace,” she wrote. “It’s appalling how we destroy our harmonious relationship with nature and other species, all while many remain disturbingly apathetic, unbothered.”

Calling for compassion and accountability, the actress continued, “The solution seems simple: empathy, responsibility and understanding—yet it’s a change that feels impossibly distant.”
Once among the leading heroines in Tamil and Telugu cinema, Sadaa has reinvented herself as a committed wildlife photographer and activist. Reacting to the tiger video, she wrote, “I can only ask for forgiveness from every species but our own, for being the most insensitive, selfish and reckless. Ashamed to bear the label of hopeless humanity.”

She also clarified that the video was a forward she received and that the incident allegedly occurred in Maharashtra. This is not the first time Sadaa has spoken out on wildlife issues. On World Wildlife Day, she made a compelling case for learning lessons from the natural world—particularly about respect and consent.

In an earlier social media post, she reflected on the mating ritual of peacocks and how it symbolises mutual respect in the animal kingdom. “Consent is everything!” she wrote, explaining that male peacocks dance tirelessly to impress a peahen, but the final decision always rests with her.

“In a beautiful display of self-determination, the peahen retains control over her choices… Until a peahen is truly impressed and gives her consent, mating won’t happen,” she noted.

Sadaa concluded that post by posing a powerful question: “Doesn’t this beautiful bird highlight the importance of respecting boundaries and desires – in both the animal kingdom and our own?”
She also clarified that the peacock video accompanying that post was recorded earlier. Through such posts, Sadaa continues to use her platform to champion wildlife awareness and ethics.
