New year Fest in London

First tickets for London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display will go on sale at midday on Friday 17 October…reports Asian Lite News

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has announced that the first tickets for London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks display will go on sale on Friday 17 October.

The first batch of tickets for the world-renowned spectacular will be on sale from midday next Friday, with tickets expected to sell out quickly.

London will welcome 2026 with its traditional display of fireworks, lighting and music along the banks of the River Thames. The 12-minute show will begin with the familiar sounds of Big Ben’s chimes, before thousands of fireworks and hundreds of lights help to illuminate the night sky around the London Eye, all set to a wide-ranging soundtrack.

Around 100,000 Londoners and visitors will unite to celebrate the key moments of 2025 and look forward to the year ahead, with many millions watching around the world on TV. The annual showstopper is an incredible global advert for our capital and tourism industry, with ticketholders alone generating more than £14m of additional revenue for London’s businesses and economy*.

The first opportunity to secure a ticket to watch the famous fireworks in person is when tickets go on sale next Friday at midday. A final smaller batch of tickets will go on sale later this year.

It is essential to buy a ticket to watch the fireworks in person from the specially designated viewing areas, as those without tickets will not be allowed to enter these areas. Only tickets bought from the authorised outlet Ticketmaster will be accepted. No official tickets will be sold by any other websites and those bought through any other means will not be valid.

This year ticket prices for Londoners remain £20 and £35 depending on the viewing area. Tickets for people who live outside the capital will be £40 and £55. There will also be an opportunity to donate to TAP London, a charity dedicated to supporting Londoners experiencing homelessness.

“There is no better way to welcome in the new year than by uniting with Londoners and visitors on the banks of the River Thames for our spectacular celebrations. Every year the eyes of the world watch as our capital’s unique fireworks, lighting and music display shows off the very best of London,” the mayor said. “It’s a fantastic advert for our city and a huge boost for our hospitality and tourism industries, as we build a better London for everyone. The only way to experience this unique show in person is by buying a ticket, so I urge anyone wanting to attend to do this as soon as possible.”

Rose Wangen-Jones, Managing Director at Visit London said: “London has one of the biggest and best New Year’s Eve celebrations: we see visitors travel from around the world to be a part of the annual tradition. In addition to the fireworks, visitors and Londoners can make the most of the big night by booking one of many parties, river cruises, shows and dinners across the capital. The festivities continue through to the next day with the London New Year’s Day parade – making it an excellent time to visit London as the city comes together in celebration.”

Robin Goodchild, Senior General Manager of the London Eye, said: “London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks are celebrated worldwide, and we’re proud that the London Eye once again takes centre stage as the icon of the city’s skyline. Working with the Mayor of London, we’re honoured that this spectacular event unites Londoners and captivates global audiences. As we conclude the Eye’s 25th anniversary, a spectacular display of colour, light, and storytelling will illuminate the Thames—welcoming 2026 from the heart of this incredible city.”
